New Designer Nigel Peake

Spring Summer 08

One of Habitat’s best finds for the spring / summer season is young designer Nigel Peake. The 26 year-old who is a Master of Arts and Architecture, is taking the design world by storm; and this season launches a vast range of products at Habitat, including melamine tableware, hammock linens and bags.

Peake’s urban-inspired prints teamed with bold colours, are a fresh approach to summer, and have already gained a lot of coverage in national newspapers. So make your way down to your nearest Habitat store and have a look at one of this season’s must have ranges.

David Wilson for Habitat

Habitat entails that it keeps a close eye on up-and-coming talent, no matter the age of the designer in question. 58 year old Gloucester resident, David Wilson is one of the latest additions to the company’s portfolio, after the creation of his children’s ‘Star Chair’ ensured him a place in the new spring / summer 2008 collection.

Wilson, a Cambridge graduate, who penned the design in 1970, in his first year at University, now looks forward to the production of the idea 38 years after its first airing. Made from re-enforced cardboard, they are a brilliant idea for parents who are looking for a stylish and unique product to add to their little one’s room.

The chairs are this season featured in sulphur and a natural tone, and are available for £19 each. It just goes to show that you don’t have to be a spring chicken to get noticed in the design world!
