WHAT MATERIALS, COLOURS AND FINISHES ARE HABITAT WARDROBE AVAILABLE IN?
Habitat wardrobes offer a variety of finishes, allowing them to fit well into any style of boudoir and contemporary colour scheme. Oak wardrobes, or oak veneer, lacquered and high gloss wardrobes: you name it, we have it. White wardrobes, in particular, are ideal for creating a sense of space, and especially popular with those who wish to emulate the Scandi look and feel.
If you’re looking for something a tad more timeless, say hello to wooden wardrobes; the epitome of quality and classic design. Solid oak wardrobes will appeal to you, but feel free to personalise wooden options if none are exactly what you had in mind. For example, if you’d love a pink, green or blue wardrobe then you can always personalise. Simply add a lick of chalk paint, polish with wax and your furniture is transformed.
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR WARDROBE SPACE
No matter how much you may like to shop, Habitat has a wardrobe to fit all your clothes. All you need to do is figure out which fits into your home, both figuratively and literally.
2-door wardrobes are ideal for compact spaces, allowing a 50:50 approach in regards to shelves and hanging space. A double wardrobe takes up the least space, making it effective in small rooms, although adding mirrored doors is a handy way of making any room look bigger. If you do have room to play with, then 3-door wardrobes offer many options when it comes to customising storage. Have you thought about lining up a a few sliding door wardrobes in a row? This will create one long storage area: the next best thing to a walk-in wardrobe.
Before you take the plunge, don't forget to measure up. Check the width of the wall and floor to ceiling dimensions, then compare against the sizing of the wardrobe itself. Take note of the height, plus both internal and external depth. This last point is particularly important for it will indicate your actual storage space.
Will it fit into the designated area? Ample clearance around your wardrobe means you'll have room to open the door and move around. We recommend allowing for 1cm in width and 4cm from the ceiling.
WHAT ACCESSORIES DO YOU NEED FOR YOUR WARDROBE?
How you choose to utilise the space available can make all the difference when it comes to feeling organised. If your current wardrobe isn’t working for you, it may be because you haven’t found the right balance of hanging space vs shelving. Perhaps the term ‘early morning rush’ would be rendered redundant if you actually knew where everything was. Think about it; if your favourite work shirt is always hanging beautifully, it might never need that pesky last minute iron.
Interior hanging rails, shelves and even built-in drawers are all available to re-work the inside - but don’t let your wardrobe do all the hard work. Our drawer units andwill help take the weight off, not to mention elevate the overall decor. You may need to store jewellery, make-up and perfume, or simply somewhere to pop your bedtime reading books. Take a look at our full range of and see what else takes your fancy.
Finally, one bedroom accessory that is currently all over Pinterest is the hanging rail. Not just for trendsetters, this allows you to show off your favourite pieces of clothing as well as provide access to them in a hurry. It's also handy that you can lie in bed, look at your clothes and decide what to wear before you even get up. Something to think about it you have slightly too many clothes (who doesn't?) yet feel another wardrobe would be somewhat imposing.
