MEET ALICE AND LAURA
Laura Jackson and Alice Levine are the talented pair behind food and lifestyle brand, Jackson & Levine. High-flying broadcasters by day, hosts of London’s “hottest supper club” by night, and now creators of their very first homeware collection for Habitat, these go-getting girls have their fingers in many pies (quite literally!). We fill you in on everything you need to know about the in-demand duo.
Having bonded over their respective bumbags at a local jumble sale, the ladies struck up a friendship and quickly discovered their mutual love for all things food. They soon began hosting their supper club, Jackson & Levine, at Laura’s warehouse flat in East London and the evenings quickly became the hottest tickets on the food scene with the intimate dinners selling out in seconds.
A HOME FROM HOME
Their supper clubs strike the perfect balance between a dinner party with friends and an informal night at your favourite neighbourhood restaurant. Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home, to put on a record and to get to know their table companions as the feast unfolds. Sourcing local ingredients is a big focus too, and the supper club has worked alongside many nearby producers to showcase their artisan products.
SETTING THE SCENE
Creating a space that is as impressive as the food is a priority for Jackson & Levine, now known for their innovative floral installations and unique hand-picked tableware. And since its inception, the Jackson & Levine supper club has popped up in some of the most exciting secret dining locations in London from a canal-side ceramics factory with accompanying barge, to a hidden gallery and even the heart of East London’s Victoria Park at night.
THE WORLD IS THEIR OYSTER
Launched in 2012, the supper club, branded the “hottest supperclub of the year” by the Observer Magazine in 2016, started from a shared love of food and has grown into a much talked-about food and lifestyle business. The girls now have a column in Marie Claire magazine and have gone on to host talks, curate major events and now, thanks to the launch of their debut book ‘Round to Ours’ are bringing their top tips, tricks and recipes to novice hosts.
