WHAT DUVET SIZES ARE AVAILABLE AT HABITAT?
From lazy weekends to cold winter nights, sometimes there’s simply nothing that beats the sensation of snuggling down into your duvet. The right duvet can reset the balance in your life; providing relaxation and warmth in abundance. And conscious snuggling aside, the duvet is where you get your good night’s sleep - and no one wants to spend 8 hours cocooned in anything but the height of comfort. How are we supposed to benefit from beauty sleep if we can’t find the right base?
Innuendos aside, size really can make all the difference. At Habitat we offer single sized duvets, perfect for children’s bedrooms or small guest rooms, plus double and king size options. We also have super king size duvets and quilts - ideal for those who share a bed, particularly if one half of you has a penchant for hogging the
WHAT FILLINGS DO HABITAT'S DUVETS AND PILLOWS CONTAIN?
When it comes to duvets and quilts, everyone looks for different specifics. For example, some of you might swear by natural pillows for a good night’s sleep, while many of us might not even be able to tell the difference between these or synthetic options. Can one really tell the difference between duck down or silk blend? Sensitive sleepers often claim so, but in reality many of us probably judge a pillow or quilt more by how it feels against our skin, how thick its ‘padding’ and the way it forms around our body.
In addition to those referenced above, we offer down, duck feather, cotton, in natural or synthetic duvets and pillows. So which of our options should you plump for? Here are a few examples of what to expect from both ends of the spectrum.
On the natural side, duck feather is blended with down for improved softness and support, while a 200 thread count cotton twill cover provides comfort, natural breathability and is down proof. Duck feather pillows offer medium support.
In the case of platinum down, a luxurious combination of white duck down, white duck feather and a cover of cotton cambric provides a desirable level of softness and support. The outer layer consists of a superior platinum duck down blend, while the firmer platinum duck feather can be found at the core. The 230 thread count cotton cover provides comfort, natural breathability and is down proof. As with the duck feather, these pillows offer medium support.
On the synthetic side, peach skin varieties offer a 100% polyester microfibre filling, with a soft, microfibre cover in the same fabric composition. This style offers an advanced cluster fibre filling that maintains plumpness and shape after washing. Pillows come with a medium-to-firm support, they are non-allergenic and - the best bit - they are also machine washable at 40 degrees - there are very few things in life quite so tricky as taking a duvet to the dry cleaners. Trust us, we’ve tried.
If you know the feeling, then you’ll be relieved to hear we also offer ultrawashable options. These beauties are a godsend to those with small children - and therefore can’t be worrying too much about everyday stains on duvets. We’ve been there too, and there’s nothing you can do but simply go with the flow. Washable at up to 60 degrees, these duvets allow you to do just that. With a polyester microfibre filling and cotton cambric cover, the advanced cluster fibre filling allows the plumpness and shape to spring back after washing. A 180 thread count cotton percale cover provides comfort and breathability, while pillows offer medium-to-firm support. What’s not to love? For you, and all the family.
WHAT DUVET TOG RATINGS AND THICKNESSES ARE AVAILABLE?
As much as we all love snuggling down into the duvet, sometimes it’s just too darn hot to take too many togs - yes, even in good ol’ rain-loving Blighty. If you don’t tend to really notice the change from one season to the next, then an all seasons duvet could keep you covered in more ways than one, yet many of us prefer to switch it up between a summer and winter duvet or quilt. At Habitat we offer 4.5 tog, 9 tog and 10 tog, all the way up to 13.5 tog - so the whole spectrum is covered. At the end of the day, when you climb into thatwe understand how important it is to know you’re going to have a comfortable night’s sleep, making finding the right tog for you essential. It’s actually very easy to feel akin to Goldilocks (if you remember the bedtime story of old) and so you’ll want to find one that’s just right.
