Stephen Chambers, RA, (Born 1960) major contemporary British artist, has exhibited widely in Europe and the US. He was elected Royal Academician in 2005. His rich compositions hover from the canvas like a magical carpet, his subjects suspended in space on flat fields of rich colour, both narrative and whimsical they invite the viewer to explore a different reality.

Drawing on the form and intensity of Italian old masters such as Piera della Francesca, he composes still life paintings that explore allegory.
