Review authenticity

We partner with leading software provider Bazaarvoice to collect, moderate, and display genuine customer reviews. The Bazaarvoice Trust Mark on our website shows our commitment to honest feedback.

Bazaarvoice uses both automated tools and human moderators to verify that each review comes from real customers. Their technology detects fake or incentivised reviews, and we only remove reviews if they violate clear moderation guidelines.

Our review process complies with the Digital Markets, competition and Consumers Act 2024 regarding fake reviews.

Types of Habitat reviews

Email

We contact eligble customers post-purchase, via email, asking them to submit reviews on products they've bought. Customers are incentivised to submit reviews via this method by being entered into a prize draw for the chance to win. These incentives are only to encourage customers to leave a review with their honest opinions and feedback, and not to influence the content of the review itself.

Brand syndication

Brands who collect product reviews for display on their own site can syndicate these for display on our digital channels. These reviews are badged with the brands logo.

How to use reviews

Rating summaries

Across site you will see that each product has a star rating. The star rating that displays is an average of all the submitted reviews and will include customer, colleague, sampling and syndicated reviews.

Read a mixture of reviews

We encourage everyone to read plenty of reviews - both positive and negative - to get a well-rounded and informed perspective before making a decision.

Look for common trends

Be sure to look for common trends across reviews, as repeated themes - whether praise or criticism - can offer valuble insights.
