The pergola is manufactured from Pressure Treated timber, which comes with a 15-year guarantee against rot and fungal decay. The structure has also been smooth-planed to give it a splinter-free finish. The posts of the pergola can be sunk into the ground to keep it secure. Delivered flat packed with all fixtures needed, and easy-to-follow instructions. Also available in a smaller size.
Note : Unavailable in Northern Ireland , Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Scottish Isles inc. Shetland and Orkney.

Pergola
I am disappointed with this product, the wood was split and warped ,which made it unusable. I had to contact the seller for replacements. There was a label on the wood stating 2024 and I feel the wood has been stored outside to the elements for a long time.

Disappointed with quality
Nice design, but disappointed with the quality. Two of the upright post have deep splits in them, three of the top supports are bent with one twisted very bad. The metal brackets that hold the top supports on have been poorly designed as the direction of the holes to fix to the top rails go the wrong way. Not impressed. I would still recommend Argos, but won't be recommending this product which is a shame as it could be an excellent product if the manufacturers quality control was better.

"We would not recommend putting any type of roof on this product". Apart from any weight or structural concerns, they advise also that they "would not recommend modifying the product in any way as this would invalidate any warranty should someone need help further down the line."

The supplier has advised the following for the Forest Garden 3.6m x 3.6m Pergola:
It could be built onto a patio. You would need to purchase some "fencebases", which are metal brackets/feet, to be able to secure it onto a patio or slabbed area/decking though. These are available from the manufacturer.
If you were fitting the pergola on a grass area or gravel instead, you would then need a long spike, which goes into the ground to fix the posts to.

The height of structure will depend on how the you decide to secure to the ground. If you're putting the legs into the ground rather than using spikes or a base plate, it'll be a touch shorter. From the information we have available, the height of the cross members, from the bottom of the posts to the bottom edge of those members is 2605mm but the height once built would depend on how you'd fix it into the ground.
