Wooden cradle came broken …
When opening the box I noticed that the wooden cradle the glass vase-bowl sits on was broken, as if one of the ‘legs’ had been snapped off. I immediately thought of calling customer service, but an idea came to mind to fix the wooden leg myself. Being quite crafty I set to repairing the broken cradle leg, firstly I cleaned the areas with a soft brush, secondly I got my wood glue out and painted both sides of the broken leg with wood glue, I waited a minute before putting both glued parts together when the wood glue had gone completely tacky, then put the pieces together and clamped the leg down with a wooden clothes peg, I carefully wiped off the excess wood glue and left the cradle to dry for a couple of hours. In a couple of hours it was good as new - disaster averted! My advice to Habitat / Sainsbury’s is to check all items inside the boxes before posting them out to customers, quality control is key especially with breakable items.
