I recall there being a little removable cap on the end of the middle section where the pole is put into the lower section. There was nothing about this cap in the leaflet, I just noticed it because it fell off when I lifted up this section. My guess is that cap is causing the problem.

Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know as it is non-electrical item - CE mark is excluded.

With regard to being flame retardant - it has passed for EN71-2.

The UKCA mark is the replacement for CE marking in Great Britain. Applying the UKCA mark is exactly like using the CE logo. Products being sold in the EU as well as Great Britain will continue to need the CE logo, so it's likely that most products will have both the UKCA mark and the CE logo on them.
