The Tower 42L square sensor bin gives you hygienic hands-free waste disposal. Featuring advanced infrared sensor technology, all that's needed is a simple hand swipe over the sensor and the lid automatically opens, removing the need to touch a contaminated surface. The lid will close after 5 seconds of inactivity. It's polished stainless steel body construction makes it easy to clean and maintain. 1 year warranty as standard, additional 4 years extended warranty available if the product is registered within 28 days of purchase.

I love not having to touch the bin at all. Well worth the money. Neat in appearance. The only thing I dont like is the fitting of the lid could be tighter onto the body of the bin.

Tower 42 Litre Sensor
Not impressed at all, there is no way this is 42l it is tiny. The rolled metal lip at the top makes pulling the bags out difficult. The sensor is ok but closes very quickly when you are trying to scrap plates off etc.

Had to replace my Murphy Richard’s electronic bin due to it dying. Couldn’t find another so went for the Tower bin. Not disappointed by the replacement, however the sensor is not as good as the Murphy Richard’s bin.

The supplier has advised the following for the Tower 42 Litre Sensor Bin - Stainless Steel:
We cannot give an exact time that the batteries will last in the appliance, its down to the quality of battery the customer is using and how regularly they are using the appliance. We recommended that the customer uses Duracell batteries".

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Tower 42 Litre Sensor Bin - Stainless Steel, The battery life would depend on what brand of batteries you are using, as each brand is different.

Sensor is quite a specific area, jusr below lid directly in front. I've found this good as my previous one kept opening when anything was near it.. If it still doesnt work it's a faulty bin.

The motion sensor is at the top front.

This one should be fine. Mine doesn't activate if you pass your hand above, it has to be at the top front.
The sensor is central just below the lip. In order for the lid not to keep opening when being passed, I have had to place it so sensor faces an appliance. Under a breakfast bar you most likely have to place it side on or it will keep opening as before
