I bought this not realising (my own fault!) that there is only one temperature controller. It is a double blanket and I automatically thought that there would be a controller for each person, as the previous Silentnight blanket had!

The supplier has advised the following for the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Underblanket - Double:
"This would be fine, as long as the electric blanket is covered following instructions in the manual provided. However, please note that mattress protectors are designed to go under sheeting, to keep them protected and extend the longevity.
We can only advise for Silentnight mattress protectors. All Silentnight products are safe to use with an electric blanket however other brands would need to be checked with the manufacturer directly. In regards to waterproof or plastic backed protectors, again the Silentnight is safe to use however, if there is a likelihood of an accident we do recommend the electric blanket is switch off and unplugged while in bed."

It is not recommended to place an electric blanket under a mattress topper. Doing so can prevent the blanket from heating effectively and may even damage the mattress topper, depending on its material. It is best to use the electric blanket on top of the mattress topper for optimal heat transfer and safety.

"This uses 70 Watts on the highest setting, including the warm up stage. We recommend using the lowest setting after warm up, meaning the wattage is less after this stage."

The supplier has advised that the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Underblanket - Single wattage is -
Setting 1 : 12 Watts
Setting 2: 25 Watts
Setting 3: 40 Watts
The wattage on the size/models do vary, however this is only relevant on warm up, once the electric blanket has reached temperature, it is recommended to reduce the settings down to setting 1. This can then be run for longer periods of time like throughout the night.

I find these elasticated straps useless, they come off the mattress. Ended up puting blanket in bed, heat bedand removed blanket before getting in bed.
