Im just going to have a random guess that the height is 72cm. Just basing this on the idea that 72 inches high is 6ft tall.....

No it slams down
I have purchased this bin now and discovered the lids are very definately, sadly, NOT soft close. When you take your foot off the pedal the lid slams down. I dont know what silent lid mechanism means. I assumed it meant soft clos but obviously it doesnt.
