The Garden by Sainsbury's Set of Four Black Solar Spotlights brings garden features to life after dark. Four spotlights in the pack mean you can highlight borders, pathways or prized plants without wiring fuss. The solar panel charges during the day, giving you white LED light that switches on automatically at dusk. With an onoff switch, you control when they glow, and rechargeable batteries come included in the box, no extras to buy.
Position them in sunny spots to capture daylight, and the battery charges via the integrated solar panel. Once fully charged, they run for several hours into the evening. LED bulbs keep running costs down and last season after season. The black finish suits most garden styles, and the stake design makes them easy to reposition whenever you want to change your outdoor lighting setup.

Great for the price!
These spots are great value, charge quickly and keep working for a long time when the sun goes down. Not the prettiest looking or the highest build quality but at the price there is nothing to complain about. I recommend these for anyone that wants to light up their garden.

Garden lights.
I bought these a month ago, to illuminate some tree's and a birdbath. They have done an excellent job. To be able to adjust the height is so useful, and solar panel too.

Hello June,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Garden by Sainsbury's Set of 4 Black Solar Spotlights: ''The light is rated IP44 equivalent.
It will be fine outside in most conditions; however, we would recommend moving it inside during particularly severe weather. On the box it states - bring indoors during Winter.''
This has a 1 year manufacturer's guarantee.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hello Mila,
I can advise the following for the Set of 4 Black Solar Spotlights:
These will auto on/off at dawn and dusk. There is a normal on/off switch as well for storage.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello MNG,
Our supplier has advised that the Garden by Sainsbury's Set of 4 Black Solar Spotlights charge during the day via the solar panel and automatically come on at night; the expected light time is determined by the amount of exposure the solar panel receives to sunlight or daylight.
Typical light times are as follows;
Spring: 2-5 hours
Summer: 5-8 hours
Autumn: 2-5 hours
Winter: 0-2 hours
The batteries do not charge in very dull overcast conditions.
I hope this helps
Thanks for using Q&A
Hi there, the solar cell produces energy by taking its source throughout the day from sunlight. This charges the battery. Solar-powered lights stop producing energy at night, so the photoresistor, which detects the absence of light, activates the battery, which turns the LED light on.

Hi Vonn158
Yes, solar lights will work through glass. As long as there is sunlight passing through glass to the solar light, they will work. If the green house is shaded, then they may not fully recharge.
Thanks for using Argos Q&A.
Hi Sarah,
I can confirm that this product has an ‘On/Off’ switch which is located on the back of the solar unit.

Hi dj,
I can confirm that these lights come complete with the LED bulbs.
Thanks for pointing this error out to us. We'll get this corrected!
Thank you for using Argos Q and A.
Hello 67shuggy,
The battery is pre-installed inside the solar unit, the light takes a NiMh AA 1.2v 300mAh rechargeable battery which is more than adequate for this type of light.
You can use up to 600mAh rechargeable batteries but these will take longer to fully charge.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Argos Q and A.
