Our supplier has advised that the cord on the Argos Home Lockie Metal Ceiling Light Fitting can be shortened when the pendant is installed however it is advised that a qualified electrician installs the item.

Does this work with battery or has to be fotted with electricity

Our supplier says Bulbs required 1 x GLS E27 edison screw LED (not included).
Recommended maximum wattage: 6 watts.


Whether it is dimmable or not is totally depending on the bulb to be used for the luminaire.

Customers have to ensure the LED bulb is featured and designed to “DIMMER” function.

Ordinary LED bulb in the market is not dimmable and so a dimmable LED bulb has to be purchased.

The answer from Argos seems unhelpful. The Wattage, i.e. power consumption, of a lamp is how fast it consumes electricity ie energy. A 6W led bulb and an old fashioned 60W incandescent bulb have similar light output but the led consumes a tenth of the electricity during the same length of time.
Old incandescent lamps were about 5 per cent efficient so 95 per cent of the electricity was turned into heat. A 60W incandescent bilb is unsuitable- it emits far more heat than a 6W led bulb.

I can confirm with the newer LED bulbs a 6w bulb is the equivalent to a 60w bulb.
