Replacement for broken Boden pot
The glass feels quite thin and vulnerable as there is no outer casing - but I like the fact of the item using less plastic! Much easier to clean than my previous pot (the filters always catch grounds regardless of model and this is no exception) Plunger works really well - no stray grounds when the coffee is poured. Love the clean lines and integrated handle. All in all very pleased with my purchase, and would recommend.

Dangerous
This cafetière which I bought six months ago blew a large hole in the glass at the bottom just as I had filled it and I was sprayed with a jet of scalding coffee. It hit my thigh. I wasnt badly burned though my leg was very sore for 24 hours. But the shock and the mess were very upsetting and if my 18 month grandchild had been standing next to me he would have hit it in the face and been hospitalised.

No, the can't be used on cooker top to heat up the water, your water should be just off boiling, so boil the kettle, then wait 1 minute to let it cool down slightly. If you use the hot water straight away, the coffee can taste slightly burnt or bitter. Wait 4 minutes before pushing down the plunger.
