The Habitat Akio Wooden Bed Frame brings that calm, uncluttered style into your bedroom where you can really unwind at the end of the day. It's lightly painted pine with a natural finish that lets the wood grain show through, so each frame has its own character. Designed for a double mattress, the base slats sit inside an outer frame that keeps the look clean and simple. The low-profile design works in most bedrooms without dominating the space. The natural pine tone pairs with most bedroom colours and furniture styles.
The wooden slats spread weight evenly across the base and give your mattress proper support underneath. There's 14cm between the floor and the underside, so you can hoover or store things underneath without awkward bending. The side rails sit at 25cm high, that's a comfortable height for getting in and out of bed. The frame holds a maximum user weight of 220kg across the whole bed. Self-assembly's needed, and it's worth having two people to make it easier. Comes with a one-year guarantee.

nice bed but terrible assembly instructions.
The finished bed is lovely to look at and, along with the mattress bought at the same time, is very comfortable. The problem was, Unfortunately, with the actual assembling which took many hours with poor instructions and pieces that often didn't quite match. This was annoying ... however, the finished item does appear to have been worth the effort (just).

A nightmare to assemble
We did not estimate 6 hours to assemble this bed and the numerous adaptations we had to make to assemble this bed. Dowels were misaligned, parts did not locate properly, nuts were impossible to access and it was genraly poorly designed for self-assembly. The finished bed was OK for the price.

Ideal bed frame
In general the bed frame it self after constructed is amazing sturdy and visually appealing for a room, how ever building it was a bit tricky as some of the bolt holes were not aligned properly making some parts rather frustrating how ever I believe I just unlucky with mine

Disappointing quality and construction
Hoped the previous reviews were wrong but no, genuinely this bed was awful to assemble. Tolerances are much too large in specific areas. Also, we were missing a dowel and a screw hole which we had to drill ourselves and even then it was pretty rubbish. The inner frame support plank was too long and we had to cut it to size. Since building it its been completely fine, no issues with that which is why its got 2 stars instead of the one.

Great product
I brought this a month ago and i'm happy i did. Is study and nice. And was on offer. The downside is that is a bit down but with a 30cm deep matress matches well.

Good value, intensive assembly
Excellent value bedframe, very low so ideal for attics or corners with sloping roofs. The frame arrived a little chipped in places, but nothing visible when installed, and there were a couple of issues with parts not fitting perfectly but it's still functional. Assembly is quite straightforward - it took me about 8 hours but I did get a couple of things wrong and had to re-do - but is rather intensive. In particular, the slats need to be manually attached, which means putting 54 screws into hardwood, which is quite challenging.

Watch out for your shins walking around the end!
Honestly, I guess you get to what you pay for! Needed a new bedframe and couldn't afford to spare much at the time so took a punt on this. It was pretty terrible to put together: some of the holes for pegs didn't line up well, needed a lot of brute force and had to use drill attachment on electric screwdriver to widen the last one on final side enough to get the peg to go in. Once it was finally together, it looked pretty stylish! However, we've already had to replace two broken slats and the design has very pointed corners which can do quite a bit of damage if you happen to walk into them (as my poor mum discovered while she was staying with us and took a flap of skin up on her shin! Sorry, Mum!). My advice is to give this a miss and opt for something less stylish but safer if you really can't afford to spend more right now.
