Hard as a Rock
Upon arrival the wrapping was coated in thick black dust, which transferred onto my carpets and walls as it was dragged upstairs and ultimately onto the mattress itself during unpacking. The mattress looks well made but is as hard as a rock and very uncomfortable, I will give it a fair trial in case it's just a matter of getting used to it, so far though I am waking numerous times throughout the night in pain, whereas normally I would sleep through quite comfortably. It's like sleeping on a floor, no give whatsoever in the springs.

Habitat Ari Natural 1000 Pocket Comfort Mattress
I bought this to replace my old mattress and was looking forward to some decent nights sleep. It's an OK mattress. But frankly, it's not the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. I have to say, I'm not a great lover of supersoft mattresses. But, this mattress is just a little too hard for my liking! I guess you get what you pay for.

Cosy and comfortable for a great night's sleep!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mattress looks quality, feels well made and is extremely comfortable. We've taken turns trying it out and we all had a good night sleep on it! It is definitely on the firmer side but still a little squishy. The depth was 23cm I believe. Standard supermarket fitted sheets fit this mattress very well. I definitely recommend this mattress.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Habitat Ari Natural 1000 Pocket Comfort Mattress - Double: The tape and sleeping surface fabrics on all three variants of the Ari Natural range of mattresses do contain chemical flame retardants to ensure that the mattresses safely comply with UK Furniture and Furnishings (Fire)(Safety) Regulations. All of these are registered under EU and UK REACH (Regulations on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals). None of the chemicals in question have been listed as SVHC’s (Substances of Very High Concern) under the EU or the UK Regulations or had any restrictions placed on their use.

The supplier has advised the following for the Ari Natural 1000 Pocket Comfort Mattress - Double:
“ The mattress has a core of 1000 pocketed springs (based on a king size) that are designed to move independently to give body support to the contours of the individual.
The cushioning filling layers add to the overall comfort.
This mattress offers a medium feel, which allows the body to descend deeper into it compared to a firm support mattress. ”

Please see picture 6/10 on the webpage for the Ari Natural 1000 Pocket Comfort Mattress - Double which shows the positioning of the pocket springs.and the different layers above. It should not therefore, be possible to feel the springs through the sides of the mattress.

I can confirm that the is not rolled when packaged. There may be a slight chemical odour when this is opened but this will disappear within 7 days.
