With Eco Comfort Fibre filling layers, which use recycled plastic bottles, this mattress brings you sumptuous comfort and a fresher night's sleep without costing the planet. The springs in this mattress offer head to toe, edge to edge support for more sleep space, with a medium comfort suitable for most sleeper types.
Finished with a modern soft knitted luxury mattress cover for a soft sleeping surface, and treated which helps to eliminate mould and dust mites to prevent allergies without chemicals. Silentnight 2800 pocket mattress
Bought the king-size last year and was really happy with mattress so ordered same in double size for new bed in spare room this year. I have bought a ottoman lift bed which has a maximum weight load of 55kg the double states that it is 57kg (I thought I would chance it) but when it arrived it had a weight stamped on packaging of of 48kg so good for me but very misleading if your buying ottoman beds

"The mattress can be used on an ottoman lift base, providing the mattress does not bend when the base is lifted, and also the base needs to provide enough support."

"If you have a slatted bed frame please make sure the slats are at least 10cm wide and the gap between them is no more than 7.5cm to make sure you and your mattress are supported properly."
As long as the metal bed and its slats fit in with those specification, you could use this mattress on it.

Bending of the mattress could cause damage to the spring units.

The Silentnight 2800 Pocket Luxury Double Mattress size mattresses are roller tested with a combined weight of 32 stones.

Thanks for your query about the Silentnight 2800 Pocket Luxury Double Mattress.
This does have two handles on each side to allow the mattress to be rotated (horizontally). It's a no turn mattress though so it cannot be flipped over.
Yes both sides have handles.

The depth of the mattress is 33cms, the measurements are taken from the centre of the mattress, which is the sleeping surface not the edges. You will not get the true depth of the mattress when measured from the edges as all the stitching that holds the mattress pulls it together.

The mattresses weighs 46.5Kg, all of these mattresses are suitable for bedsteads, if you are worried about the weight restrictions it may be advisable to check with the manufacturer of the bedstead.
