The Sophia Double Velvet Bed Frame gives you a comfortable spot to rest and a stylish focal point for your bedroom at the same time. It's got a distinctive wave-shaped headboard that's been hand upholstered in soft moss velvet, so it feels as lovely as it looks. The velvet's been fitted by skilled craftspeople, giving you quality that shows in the detail. It's a double size, so there's room for two to sleep comfortably. The sprung wooden slat base supports your mattress evenly and lets air circulate underneath, keeping everything fresh.
Turned wooden feet add a nice finishing touch and lift the frame off the floor, leaving 18cm space underneath for storing boxes or hoovering. The slatted base system spreads weight properly and works with your mattress to give you better support through the night. The siderails sit at a practical height that keeps your mattress secure without getting in the way. Self-assembly's needed, and you'll want two people for putting it together, all the fixings and instructions are included. Comes with a one-year guarantee from the manufacturer.

Slats not compatible with pocket sprung mattress
I’ve just bought this bed for the spare room in my house. The bed itself is gorgeous very solid lovely colour. However the gaps between the slats are over 8cm which means the bed base is not compatible with memory foam, hybrid or pocket sprung mattresses. There is no warning about this that I can see on the Argos or Habitat websites. I have bought a pocket sprung mattress separately so I am going to have to have a new set of slats made which are thicker and closer together so my mattress doesn’t get ruined. Basically the bed is not fit for purpose for many uk mattresses - avoid.

Easy to assemble and nice finish
Beautiful bed with striking colour, easy to assemble and very comfortable. Only down side is that it would be useful to have more underbed space.
