The Akio Small Double Wooden Platform Bed Frame gives you a calm, pared-back sleeping space that suits smaller bedrooms without feeling cramped. It's built from lightly painted pine wood with a natural finish that lets the wood grain show through, so you get that warm, natural look. The frame holds a small double mattress and supports up to 220kg, that's plenty for two adults sleeping comfortably. The base slats sit within an outer frame, keeping the lines clean and the structure solid. There's 14cm of space underneath, so you can hoover or tuck storage boxes out of sight.
The wooden slats give your mattress breathable support and help it last longer by letting air circulate underneath. The siderail sits 25cm high, keeping your mattress secure without making it awkward to get in and out. The pine frame's been treated with a light finish that protects the wood while keeping that natural character. Self-assembly's needed and you'll want a second pair of hands for it, all fixings and instructions are included. Covered by a one-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Missing screws, holes not matching, missing headboard support . Bed is actually quite low

Great bed, looks amazing quality. Very chic and mid century modern. The headboard is hard to screw on and it’s not the easiest to assemble but it’s worth it.

Good deal but difficult to assemble
I bought this bed frame this month. It’s a good deal but it’s very difficult to assemble. The axis is too long and I had to make it shorter to fit the frame. It took a lot of time to do it.

It was Ok. Fine for a spare room.
I ordered both the small double platform bed frame and the 1-drawer bedside table, each described as Walnut and part of the Akio range. However, I noticed that the bedside table is significantly darker than the bed frame, despite both items being listed as the same colour and range. I also purchased a Silentnight small double mattress based on the suggestion shown during the bed purchase. Unfortunately, the mattress appears to run slightly small for the frame, leaving visible gaps at the sides, which affects the overall fit and comfort.

Akio small double bed
The bed its self is ok but the head board is terrible as non of the holes were in the correct place to line it up together with the bed. Had to re drill holes in the correct place and use bigger screws which is ridiculous not very good and dont think it will last a year to be honest
