The Habitat Chiltern Spindle Bed Frame gives you a kingsize sleeping space with plenty of room underneath for storage boxes or luggage. It's solid wood with a clean white stained finish that suits most bedroom colours. The headboard's made from turned wood spindles with carved top and bottom bars, so it's sturdy and looks lovely too. Sprung wooden slats support your mattress and let air circulate, which keeps things fresh and helps your mattress last longer. There's 20cm of space under the frame, so you can slide storage underneath or just hoover through easily.
The wooden slats flex to give you support where you need it, while the solid frame stays stable night after night. The siderails sit at a comfortable height that makes getting in and out of bed easy. Self-assembly's required, and it's easier with two people to help. All fixings and instructions are included. The simple Scandinavian-inspired design works in modern bedrooms without taking over the space. Comes with a one-year manufacturer's guarantee for peace of mind.

Good bedframe
Easy to build and sturdy. Bought a king and there is a little gap either side of the mattress. Unsure if it is the Otty mattress or the frame

Looks lovely but not very sturdy
Steer clear! Looks lovely, is easy to put together and main peripheral frame is nice and sturdy, but the middle section that holds the slats in place is flimsy and the slats are too narrow so they continually fall out of the holders which means the mattress needs to be removed so they can be refitted. I don’t know if this is due to bad design, habitat trying to save wood, or whether I just got a dodgy one, but the result is frustrating!!

Warped wood
Was initially very happy with the bed, felt sturdy, fairly easy to assemble, and great value Unfortunately, after around a month of having the bed, the wooden panel down one side has bent and warped. This means that the slats underneath the bed don't correctly fit into their holders, and frequently pop out on the side of the bed that's warped. Because of this, the mattress can partially drop and isn't even. I contacted customer support to see if I could get sent another side panel. Because I'd had the item over 30 days (around 6 weeks) I was offered to return it for another, however this is a bit of a pain as the king size won't fit out the bedroom now it's assembled, so it means disassembling for habitat to collect. Very disappointed because without the warping I'd be delighted with the bed

Habitat chiltern spindle bed
Bought this bed for myself a month ago. It took a little while to get delivered but that was made apparent from the begining so it didn't deter me from ordering. Bed itself is sturdy and very easy to put together. I managed to do put it together on my own in well under an hour. Brilliant bed so far!

Our supplier has advised that the Habitat Chiltern Spindle Double Wooden Bed Frame has a solid oak frame, the slats are sprung wood and the central support/legs are solid pine.
The wide panel on Head Board/Foot Board and the long side rail, there is veneer on the surface.
This is designed to fit a standard double mattress, 135cm x 190cm.
and a standard kingsize mattress, 150cm x 200cm
