Crafted from solid oiled oak and oak veneer, the Max 2 door cupboard with slatted doors adds warmth and character to a room. The combination of slatted doors and hidden plinth give a light appearance while providing generous storage space for any living or dining room.
Designed by and exclusive to Habitat, the slatted fronts of the Max range were inspired by louvred doors.

Habitat Max Large Sideboard
Good quality and sturdy piece of furniture which looks great and has a large capacity. Item was delivered in four separate boxes all of which are heavy and as recommended expect to need two people to carry. You'll need a fair amount of clear floor space to put this together but I found the instructions easy to follow. The only snag I hit was when it came to attaching the door hinges to the frame as the screws provided did not seem to fit as the instructions suggested despite trying multiple combinations, in the end I had to abandon one fixing but doors have been secure. I'm pleased I made the decision to invest.

The sideboard is great
Well made sideboard, very sturdy. The door open with a little push. The smell of wood is amazing. Plenty of space inside. Easy to follow instructions.

Huge storage - love it
I love this cupboard - its huge and so useful. It was very heavy to build and move once built so I would recommend building it close to where you are putting it. The wood has a slight rough feel to it and the edges are quite sharp but I love the look of this unit.

No, the plinth cannot be removed as it’s a structural part of the base, it’s attached to it already. As a result, the height of this is not adjustable.

Thanks for your query about the Max Large Sideboard.
The maximum weight the top of this unit can support is 20kg.
This unit is not designed for kitchen use though, it’s a living room furniture item, so the sort of heat and moisture that can be created in a kitchen could affect it. Also, for a large, bulky item like a microwave, you’d need to consider the stability of the unit it’d be resting on as a sideboard type of unit like this is more for items like ornaments and the like where the weight on the top is spread more evenly. On balance we'd have to advise against trying to use a microwave on it.

The doors on the Max Large Sideboard overlapping may be due to misalignment of the door hinges. Page 9 of the assembly instructions shows how to adjust this, if this does not correct the problem then you would need to return it to store.

The supplier has advised the following for the Max Large Sideboard:
The top shelf is adjustable. It can be set at a series of different heights above the fixed bottom shelf. The lowest it can go is 238mm, then it can be set at any one of a series of increments set about 64mmm apart. The highest it can go is 242mm from the top. The total gap from to the fixed bottom shelf to the underside of the top is 736mm.
This shelf is 577mm wide, 385mm deep and 18mm thick. The bottom shelf is the same size.
The size of the space under that fixed bottom shelf is 370mm height, 385mm depth, and 577mm width.
