Essence of Habitat
Unfussy, no handles, solid, stable and easy to build with matching pieces of furniture. Well done Sainsbury for keeping the brand alive though I do miss the Habitat stores.

Simple assembly
Although I really like the sideboard I was quite disappointed in the colour of the oak-slatted front. It is a lot darker than the veneer body. I also have a small tv unit, which is five years old. The colours of the tv unit are far more uniform and pleasing to look at. I assembled this myself as it was straightforward and not too heavy to manoeuvre. Habitat still has a dedicated customer service centre where you can speak to a person, instead of online chat, which makes dealing with Habitat a pleasure.

Good design, shame about the mark
Overall happy with this cupboard. It looks really good. However, the top had a large white mark on it, which fact I didn't discovered until the cupboard was nearly constructed, as the top is the last piece you take out, and it's upside down in the box! I think it's water damage from transit. Anyway, I decided not to send it back, but to sand it and refinish it, which took quite a bit of time. I used Osmo Top Oil, which I'd recommend in any case so the top is properly sealed. A pity about the stain but the finished item is good.

2 door sideboard
Looks fantastic and more expensive than it cost. Took patience to align the doors but we’ll worth it in the end!

2 door sideboard not usual quality
We bought this item to use as part of a storage solution for a record player and vinyl. It replaced a much larger ready assembled unit. The size and shape is perfect but it isn’t solid and feels quite ‘rocky’ when to doors are opened and closed. I would suggest anyone assembling to check their floor levels as this affect the door closures.

Yes the back is solid.
Please be aware that if you do drill a hole in the back then the 12 month manufacturers warranty will be invalid
Thanks for using Q & A
Hi Bella
If the shelves were taken out then this would leave two compartments 60cm high x 58cm wide. If the centre section (upright) divider was left out (not recommended due to potential stability issues) then the space would be 60cm x 117cms wide. By doing this the two back sections would have to be left out as well as they locate into the central section.
Hope this helps. Thanks for using Q&A.
