Poor quality
Not particularly good quality, instructions are pretty useless, you're left to guess most of it. Frustrating to build

Looks nice but definitely a budget bookcase
Martial parts not numbered, some screws say are in the bag one but actually in with drawers runners. The back comes in 3 sections small medium and large. Although you do tack it on with pins around the edges there is just tape holding the sections together. This is grey tape so you can see it on both side. The drawers are not very wide or deep, there is a lot of wasted space at the back. No matter where you place the shelves there is not much room for taller items. Not bad for the price but I also feel it could be a little cheaper for what it is.

The product unfortunately isn’t as visually appealing as it looks in the photos. Not as sturdy as you’d assume however its function is still good.

It's a black bookcase - with 2 drawers.
Bought this to house my ever-growing collection of board games, and does a great job of it. I knew it would be up to task, as I already have another one of these. My one gripe, is building it. The instructions are mostly clear, but trying to work out which fixings are which is a bit of a headache! Overall though, good product.

Good cheap book case
Good cheap, easy to assemble. If you are in dire need of a book case and not sure what to get, get this one. And when you want solid wood, make yourself one or go expensive. Does the job, can't complain.

Good budget bookcase
I brought four bookcases to use together, they were fairly easy to make although step 1 and 2 was difficult. Instructions were clear and each bookcase took about 2/3 hours to make with two people.

Yes, shelves can be removed from this unit. As can be seen in the assembly manual (linked below) there are 2 shelves fixed in position, and 3 adjustable shelves.

The drawers on the Habitat Compton 2 Drawer Bookcase - Black are removable however, if left out, the base would be the extra shelf, it would not be possible to add an additional shelf in between the two drawers for example. However, we would not recommend the use in this way.

As all the panels already have pre-drilled holes for the drawers & shelves, the bottom drawer can’t be place higher up.
