I can advise that due to the spring system used in the Silentnight Eco Miracoil Pillowtop Mattress - Small Double, it is perfectly normal to be able to feel the springs at the side.

The supplier has advised the following for the Silentnight Eco Miracoil Pillowtop Mattress - Small Double:
Please see our recommendations below -
- maximum space between slats should be no more than around 7 or 9cm
- minimum width of slats should be approx. 8 to 10cm
- the entire length of the mattress should be supported by slats, i.e.. slat ladder length should be same as length of mattress.
- slats should be secured to bedstead properly to prevent movement of slats
Metal bedsteads with tubular steel bars instead of slats are not recommended, as these do not offer uniform support and can cut into upholstery causing ridges in sleep surface.

The supplier has advised the following for the Silentnight Eco Miracoil Pillowtop Mattress - Small Double.
“ Only use your mattress with a suitable base, one which will provide suitable support like our upholstered divans. *If you have a slatted bed frame please make sure the slats are at least 10 cm wide and the gap between them is no more than 7.5cm to make sure you and your mattress are supported properly. ”
