Very bright and efficient
These are great replacements for traditional bulbs, especially when used in room lights because they go very bright - truly equivalent to an old 100W filament bulb. The bulbs are dimmable, with the light growing more yellow in colour as you dim it more, giving a warmer evening feel. The bulb glass is transparent, so you can see the LED strips inside. I believe they do alternative models with frosted glass. Finally, at only 10.5W, they are very efficient LED bulbs in terms of electricity use. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate buying again.

Just the job for the shed
Bought this to replace a slightly lower wattage led buib which was not quite bright enough inn my shed. "I can see clearly now" to sing it's praise and it will probably last long enough to see me out.

Bright and efficient
I haven't had the chance to use it much, so I can't comment about reliability. Additionally, I haven't used it with a dimmer, so I can't comment on that, either. However, I can say it's really bright for its power. I wish it was advertised for its power, not for the 100W equivalent. Consumers now know about modern light bulbs and no longer need to know the equivalent wattage. We moved on from traditional bulbs to halogen ones, then to fluorescent and then to LED, which are now almost everywhere. It sounds misleading and it took me ages to find this model, because it won't come up in the results if I didn't search for a 100W bulb.

The Philips 10.5W LED BC Dimmable Light Bulb is meant to be used with dimmer switches, although can be used on a normal switch without the dimming function.

I have been using this exact item on a Varilight Trailing Edge dimmer switch for nearly a year and have had no problems.
Leading Edge dimmers are older and some may work but you may have buzzing. Trailing Edge is newer technology and prefered as its better on lower LED total wattage requirements. I prefer installing and using them on LED lamps because as an electrician I would not like a call back from a customer.

The supplier has advised the following for the Philips 100W LED BC Dimmable Light Bulb:
“ If you have a leading-edge dimmer switch it should work because all Philips product work with a leading edge dimmer switch but if you have a trailing edge dimmer switch it won't work. ”
