There's nothing worse than watching your parasol topple mid-afternoon when the breeze picks up. That's where the Habitat Granite Parasol Base steps in. This grey beauty keeps your shade exactly where you need it - planted firmly through garden parties, lazy lunches and breezy summer evenings. It's granite paired with steel, so you're getting proper weight and stability without the wobbly drama. The sleek grey finish looks smart on patios and decking. A garden essential that does its job quietly and stays put season after season.
The granite construction gives you serious heft that won't budge in the wind. Steel pole slots in neatly to hold your parasol steady. It fits parasol poles comfortably, so you'll get a snug, secure fit. The grey colour works with almost any outdoor setup - modern, traditional or somewhere in between. Heavy enough to handle British weather without fuss. It's built to last through summers of sunshine and the occasional downpour. Your parasol stays upright, your garden stays shaded, and you stay relaxed.

Nice weight-but there are a few issues with design
Bought 6 weeks ago. Good points: Pale grey granite colour, of a good thickness. The weight is good-and holds the shanghai style parasol-but not perfectly. (Note the shangai style parasol has no air holes-so really don't leave it open!) Corners were protected in shipping so no damage upon arrival. The downsides: a flat spanner was provided and the bolt to secure the pole holder is deeply recessed in the underside of the base so with all the will in the world-it can't be tightened fully so the pole holder spins. I don't own a spanner that fits into a recess to grip the nut, so am going to have to buy one. For the price I would have expected the appropriate spanner to have been provided-not the one in the pack that can't be used for the job it was supplied for. It has no recessed wheels, but has pre-installed plastic corner pads. Good if you have a very level patio you can slide it to a new spot. The pole holder is very light, and not steel, it doesn't feel sturdy enough to last a long time so I hope parts will be available for replacement. The screws in the pole holder drive holes into the parasol pole when tightened to stop it wobbling, one to also look out for to resite pole in the same place each time or the end of the pole will enetually break off with holes all round it. Overall it's doing the job, for now, but there are a few issues.

Phew!
It is heavy (thankfully), but it is heavy so be careful. Time will tell if it stands up to UK weather from Easter to October, but the signs are good.

Very good
I'm very pleased with the stand. I have a very heavy umbrella that did not tip over once. It's heavy to move of course but has some hand places which mean I can drag it around ok.

Strong Heavy Base
Brought this to use with a heavy parasol. It is strong and very sturdy with great weight, which will hold the parasol firmly in place.

Very sturdy and looks lovely.
Bought for a 3m parasol that is meant to be used with a 70kg base but decided to try this one. So far it is working perfectly and we wouldn’t use the parasol in windy conditions anyway so seems to be adequate. It is lovely granite and very sturdy. It has handle grab holes but very heavy to move so wouldn’t be ideal if you wanted to move your parasol regularly. Ours stays in one place so is fine.

Hello James,
The supplier has advised the following for the Granite Parasol Base - Grey:
The smallest parasol pole for this base would be one of a diameter of 38mm. A pole with a diameter of 32mm would be too small and would wobble inside the tube, risking the item's stability.
Thank you for using Q&A.
