Yes, the legs do move further apart when you extend the table. It’s of the type where you pull the whole table apart and then fit the centre sections in, rather than being the other type where you just pull the leaves of the table apart and the legs and underside just stay the same.

If what the supplied says is true then the photos are misleading as the photos showing the table extended show an extra bit in the middle under the table top which would extend the gap between the legs - please confirm that this is an error and that it is only the table top that extends.

The supplier has advised the following for the Etta Extending 6 - 8 Seater Dining Table -Oak Veneer:

The legs do not move at all when the table is extended so the spacing between the legs is always the same. Only the size of the table top changes. At the base of the legs, they're 1156mm apart and, at the top of the legs, they're 960mm apart. (The legs are slightly sloped and go up at an angle).

The space between the legs is 115.6cm (at the base of the legs, as they slope out slightly, and measured from their inside edges). Front to back, the legs are 72cm apart.

Our supplier has advised that the Habitat Etta Extending 6 - 8 Seater Dining Table does have a veneer which adds a layer of protection, however any spills should be cleaned up immediately with a damp cloth. You can add a protective layer of polish/vanish if wanted.

“From the base of the table top to the floor it is 725mm, there is an 80mm square section in the middle of the able top underneath for the legs to attach too. This area from the base to the floor will be 645mm in height. ”

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Etta Extending 6 - 8 Seater Dining Table -Oak Veneer: It can be done, but the outcome can be uneven. This depends if the desk is worn down in some places or not. If the natural veneer is without the varnish, then this will absorb more of the oil and will be darker compared to the parts that have the varnish still intact.
