Awful drawers to make, don’t waste your money
These drawers are very difficult to put together, mainly because a lot of the holes don’t line up and it’s made of cheap wood. What made it worse was a faulty drawer runner that wouldn’t slide back or forth and one of the screws was missing. Luckily with a bit of extra DIY we were able to fix these problems. If I wasn’t buying this to fit under the Brooklyn bed, I would have given up and bought another chest of drawers. Save yourself the money, time and energy and don’t bother with these drawers.

Fantastic
I know this is marketeed as a child's chest of drawers, but I needed a small bit as a bed side set of drawers. So I needed a shorter piece of furniture Its a great quality unit, I changed the handles to gold handles. So very please.

Good for the money

Ok furnture but assemble a long exercise.
Decent piece of furniture but huge exercise to self- assemble: 30+ individual elements and almost 200 pieces of hardware to put the thing together. Several hours needed.

Nightmare build
This was an absolute nightmare and I have to return it. Missing pieces no letters on the items all screws threw into the one bag no numbers. This is the first time I’ve experienced this from a flat pack from your company. Have never had any problems before but this was as if it was just threw into the box. Very disappointed

New Drawers
This was a sturdy product a little difficult to put together for the amateur but a good product

Habitat? Are you sure about that?
Having been a long time Habitat customer (since the late 70s) and having bought a fabulous bookcase a year ago, I was hopeful of this chest arriving as a completed item (some hope) or at least as a well thought out flat-pack. Disappointingly what arrived was below expectations. Whereas the previous chest purchased just weeks before was fine to assemble, well almost, and at least all of the components were in separate bags, with a spare bag of parts which I thought was a nice touch, by contrast this model arrived with everything in one large bag which added a good 90 mins of sorting time to find and isolate all of the varying components, not helped by there being screws of identical length but different type. Eventually, once i'd confirmed that it matched the list in the instructions, assembly was then hampered by some very inaccurate holes having been pre-drilled, sometimes 1.5-2mm out of alignment! The legs had no pilot holes and required strong clamps and very precise alignment to ensure the chest remained true and not prone to wobbling. As if to add to the situation, some of the instruction images pointed at the incorrect holes, and seemed obsessed with telling us not to put two screws in the same hole, which is impossible to do! With some careful adjustment, especially to the sliders the item was completed and appears to be a usable item although it has made me wary of assembling the taller 4 drawer chest in green that was purchased at the same time. In my overall opinion, this item was well short of the standard of Habitat items that i've purchased over the years, and makes me unsure about ordering anything further that is sold under the Habitat brand, but is clearly Argos quality! So sad to see the decline!

Not worth the money
It’s a nice chest of drawers, but it’s flimsy and expensive for what it is.

Hello Jemma.
After contacting our suppliers they have advised for Habitat Brooklyn 2 Door 2 Drawer Wardrobe - White:
All chipboard and MDF panels contains glue. So, they will emit some formaldehyde. Even untread pine does naturally emit formaldehyde.
We buy our MDF panels in Germany. Germany has stricter regulations for formaldehyde emissions from MDF panels which from 2020 only allow half the amount of formaldehyde E05 as rest of Europe.
From August 2026 will rest of Europe follow the change from E1 to E05 values.

Hello RL2023,
The supplier has advised the following for the Kids Brooklyn 2+2 Chest of Drawers - White and Oak:
All products that they supply are painted with UV water based acrylic lacquer. It is low in VOC. The advise that they get their lacquer tested by "TÜV Germany". (From the information we have available, this is a "Technical Inspection Association" and they provide product testing and certification).
They also advise that: "The lacquer VOC is way below the EU requirements or not detected at all. We use the same lacquer for our baby products / cot beds etc."
I hope this helps.

Hello Sammy,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Habitat Kids Brooklyn 2+2 Chest of Drawers - White: The lacquer has been tested for phthalates, migration of certain elements, heavy metals etc. All passed to be used for babies as well. The MDF panels are tested to the new German requirements for phthalates, which are doubly as strict as the rest of the EU.

I googled - mat lacquer gloss 20 colour code RAL 9003 - and google images comes up with an off-white or greyish white. Based on this and the images not really looking like brilliant white, I certainly wont be buying it. The colour option should be accurate and the white option should clearly be greyish white. Disappointing to say the least!
