The Jessie Tall and Narrow Ladder Shelf keeps your books and favourite things organised without taking over the room. It's ideal for smaller spaces where you need storage but can't fit a wide unit. The leaning design provides five shelves for books, photos, plants or anything you want to display. Made of walnut veneer with solid uprights, it gives the look of natural wood with a durable structure that stands up to daily use. The lacquered finish protects the surface and wipes clean easily. It attaches to the wall for stability, which is important for tall furniture like this.
The clean lines work nicely in most rooms, whether that's a living room corner, bedroom or home office. The shelves are fixed in place, so there's no adjusting to worry about, they're ready to use straight away. The narrow profile means you can tuck it into corners or alongside other furniture without blocking walkways. Wall-mounting fixings are included and must be used to prevent tipping. This is a sturdy bookcase, the wood is a nice colour and doesn’t look cheap. Only negative is the safety sticker is visible and not meant to or easy to remove.

Thanks for your query about the Jessie Tall & Narrow Ladder Shelf - Walnut Veneer.
It is more of a display shelf than a bookshelf but you probably could put a few books on it.
As you've not specified if you mean hardback or paperback, and even then the heights can vary, we cannot give an exact figure. Also, even if your books were the same rough height, the thicknesses will vary and again, there is no standard book thickness. We cannot give a figure for the numbers you'd get on here. You'd also need to consider the weight the shelf can hold, with books being very heavy, especially when there's a good few of them and, also, the overall stability of the unit, i.e. that you'd need to consider putting bigger, thicker, heavier ones at the bottom.
What we can confirm are the following specs and you'd be welcome to check those off against those of your books.
The gap height between the shelves is 328mm for all shelves. The internal shelf depth varies, increasing from top to bottom:
- 161mm (Top)
- 197mm
- 232mm
- 268mm
- 314mm (bottom)
The shelves are all 303mm wide internally.

After checking the size of a 12" record in its cover (31.43cm x 31.43cm) I can confirm that the record will indeed fit on any of the shelves.

Our supplier has confirmed that the Habitat Jessie Tall & Narrow Ladder Shelf can be used like this as long as the top of the shelving unit is fully fixed into the wall as per the instructions.

2nd shelf 268 mm depth
3rd shelf 232 mm depth
4th shelf 197 mm depth
5th shelf (top) 161 mm depth
The width inside of the shelf is 32.5 cm.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Habitat Jessie Tall & Narrow Ladder Shelf - Walnut Veneer: The height from the floor to the underside of the top shelf is 1510 mm. The height from the floor to the top surface of the top shelf is 1560 mm. The shelf thickness is 50 mm.
