The Habitat Blissford Four Poster Bed Frame gives you a place to sleep that feels a bit special without taking over your whole bedroom. It's a wooden frame with four tapered posts, so you've got the classic four poster look but in a simple, modern style. Clean lines and hidden fittings keep everything looking calm and tidy. The white finish brightens your bedroom and works with most colour schemes. Sprung wooden slats support your mattress evenly and let it breathe. It'll take a double mattress, so there's room for two people to sleep comfortably.
The wooden frame provides solid support night after night, with a maximum user weight of 220kg across the bed. There's 21cm of space underneath, so you can store boxes or bags out of sight, or hoover beneath without shifting the bed around. The base rail sits 35cm high, that's a comfortable height for getting in and out. No storage drawers are built in, keeping the design simple and the weight down. Self-assembly's needed, and it's easier with two people to help line up the frame. A one-year manufacturer's guarantee is included.

Beautiful bed
Beautiful bed, I’m so pleased with it. The delivery guys arrived on time and were very polite and friendly. The bed comes flat packed in two fairly large boxes. It was very easy to assemble, (two of us assembled it) with clear and easy to follow instructions (you will need a mallet and a pair of step ladders). It took us just under 2 hours to assemble it. The pieces are of very high quality especially for the price, and I’m happy to say the bed is very comfortable. So all in all 10/10.

I have some concerns over the quality of the slats provided. They had a tendency to split as they went into the plastic holders. There were also a couple of small marks on the frame.

Beautiful Contemporary Bed
While I hesitated at the price of the frame, I'm glad I bought it. It has such clean lines, it's a beautiful bed when assembled. I put this bed up on my own in around 2 hours. It would have been much quicker with 2 people. The bed frame is wood. It's well made, easy to put together, and everything is well thought through as it fits together without fault. I have no complaints. My bedroom now has the wow factor and I love it. I'm not making drapes for it.

Really good look and solid build

Yes, the headboard is a separate piece to the upper 4-poster frame for the bed, but it cannot be adjusted in height (the holes for fixing it are pre-drilled). However, we would advise that you still fit the headboard as items are designed to be used with all the parts correctly fitted and to leave the headboard off would affect the item’s guarantee. Also, it will provide some structural stability to the two back posts of the upper frame.

However, the guarantee on this item is for original parts from the original supplier so 3rd party parts would not be covered by the item’s warranty. Also, as it’d be an alteration to the item, changing the slats would be at your own risk; any changes and/or damage resulting from the fitting/installation and use of 3rd party slats on the bed would not be covered.

The height of the headboard panel, from its top to the floor, is 1080mm. The total height of the entire bed frame is 2000mm.

"This items is water base coating". They also confirm that, if you do want to paint it, you'd need to sand it to remove the existing finish and then paint it.
However, I must also advise that this would count as an alteration to the item so you'd be free to do this but it would invalidate the product's guarantee.

No, this is a fixed height of 21 cm from the floor to the bottom of the first panel. The holes are pre drilled and any modifications will void the warranty.
