Perfect for privacy on a budget.
Bought for my brother's rental which I'm currently staying in and sprucing up. The metal venetians were broken so I just wanted something cheap, effective and easy to put up. At first I thought I'd have to hang them over the recess due to size, but it was easy to cut to size, I simply sawed off the wooden slats top and bottom and cut the blind using scissors. I was worried it would fall apart as I had to saw off one bit far from the rivet holding it all together, I added a bit of glue in case, but I don't think it was even necessary. The cleat hook screwed straight into the wall without raw plugs , I did swap the hooks supplied for hanging with some shorter white cup hooks which are more robust and secure pic was taken prior). The whole thing looks great and creates a nice atmosphere. The photo doesn't do it justice.

Good if not used regularly
I bought them some time ago and they're good for what they are and if not used regularly. Unfortunately, for whatever reason the plastic clips at the back unclip if want to roll them fast, which is annoying - and then trying to put the clip back the other one unclips if not handled properly. Doesn't really blocks the sun all that good, which is another downside. Materials feel cheap as well.

This item can be used into brick but the screws that are provided with this are not suitable for masonry. You would need to source suitable screws for your type of wall.

I wouldn't think it would. The bamboo isn't compacted so light is let in, which means heat can escape and cold can be let in.

These are natural wood with no treatment so could be stained, however in doing so it will void the warranty as it's classed as a modification.
