At first, the pan was amazing and I was really impressed. But after a week of normal cooking and washing, it completely changed. I always oil the meat and let the pan heat up properly, but on several occasions it heated far too quickly and the food stuck badly. I had to soak it for hours just to clean it. I’ve only had it for two weeks, but looking at it now, you’d think I’d had it for a year.
I’m extremely disappointed. I read the reviews and was convinced this was a good purchase, but clearly I should have known better and gone for a higher‑quality pan before throwing the packaging away. You can’t return it once it’s been used — but how are you supposed to know if it’s any good without using it? I honestly don’t understand who came up with that consumer rule.
This pan is great. It distributes heat evenly and food retains its flavour. The colour is vibrant. Just beware that the pan is very heavy, but it should last well.
I’ve used the pan a couple of times with good results so far. It is heavy but that’s to be expected as it’s cast iron, and the handle gets hot, but so does the one I had made by Le ‘C’ . Time will tell on the quality of the griddle coating.
The Cast Iron Griddle was very heavy which was a good sign, but even using spray oil, bacon and mushrooms seemed to stick a lot and weren't easy to clean. Tried again with veg and they faired a lot better
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Habitat 23cm Cast Iron Griddle Pan - Orange: Yes, it can be used in the Oven safe up to 260°C.
