2 year Replacement Care policy

If your item gets damaged accidentally, or breaks down due to a fault after the manufacturer's guarantee has ended, our priority is to get you back up-and-running as soon as possible.

With Argos Replacement Care, provided by the UK's leading specialist warranty provider Domestic & General, we'll replace it before you even miss it, and there's no excess to pay!

Just pop into store with your receipts for the product and policy, and we'll give you a brand-new replacement! If we can't replace it, we'll give you Argos vouchers to the original amount you paid for your item so you can choose for yourself. No fuss.

We're proud to say - 99.8% of our customers' claims across Argos Care, were accepted in 2024 (excludes Furniture Care).

Already have household contents insurance? Your existing policy might offer cover for accidental damage, fire or theft. However, you may find that an excess is payable and a claim may affect the cost of your subsequent insurance premiums.

What's covered

What's not covered

Loss, installation costs, theft, attempted theft and (other than for jewellery) cosmetic damage that doesn't affect how the product works.

Please note, for certain products the policy only provides accidental damage cover. For MP3 and MP4 Players, Headphones, Handheld Games Consoles, Camcorders, Cameras, Games Consoles, Wearable Tech and Mobile Phones under £50 if the product has a manufacturer's guarantee lasting 2 years or more, the policy will provide 2 years accidental damage cover. For General Electrical Products (such as Kettles, Fans, Irons, Microwaves, Console Controllers and other products), Set Top Boxes, DVD Players, Vacuum Cleaners, Sat Navs and TVs if the product has a manufacturer's guarantee lasting 3 years or more, the policy will provide 3 years accidental damage cover.

Still not quite sure if you want Argos Replacement Care? You've got 45 days from the date you buy your item to get that extra reassurance. Just pop into store, with your receipt and one of our friendly colleagues will be happy to help. You can buy it right-there-and-then and you'll be covered right away. Phew, that's a relief!

Demands and needs

This insurance policy is designed to meet the demands and needs of those who wish to insure their electronic products, household goods, watches and/or mobile phones against accidental damage and breakdown; or jewellery from accidental damage.

General information

For all information, along with the full list of exclusions and restrictions, please see the terms and conditions in the PDF leaflet available at the bottom of this text, or in a leaflet in Argos stores.

Your statutory rights will not be affected when you buy a policy. These include the right to claim a refund, repair, or replacement for up to six years (in Scotland it's up to five years after you became aware, or could with reasonable diligence have become aware there was a problem) if your electrical goods were not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose when they were sold to you. After the first six months, you will have to prove that the goods had a fault when sold to you. You can buy a policy up to 45 days after buying your product. Any terms or offers, such as discounts and vouchers that are linked to the purchase of the policy will also remain available for 45 days from the date you purchase your product. The policy commences on the date it is purchased. Your policy will end after the duration specified on your receipt (unless ended in accordance with the terms and conditions). If we give you a replacement or vouchers for a replacement, the policy will end immediately and no premium will be refunded.

Your policy can be cancelled at any time. You will receive a full refund if you cancel within the 45 day cooling off period. After these 45 days, if you cancel your policy we will refund the premium paid for the remaining full months of your policy.

Policies may be available from other providers. You may also be covered under your household contents insurance or other policies that you may hold. Domestic & General Insurance PLC is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. If we cannot meet our obligations to you under the policy, compensation may be available to cover these obligations. The compensation provides for 90% of any claim with no upper limit on the amount of the claim.
