Difficult to assemble. Solid panels, flimsy slats
Laughable assembly instructions to say they do not recommend powered tools when there are over 100 wood screws to fix into solid wood without pilot holes! All assembly are ok except the bed slats. The wood slats themselves feel flimsy and quite bendable, you get more solid ones from Ikea. The pilot holes only on two slats at both ends of the bed and a single one in the middle. You need to precisely space out the slats otherwise the pull-out section won't fit in-between. They could have provided a spacer made from scrap to help you out but they didn't think of that! Then it came to the low quality of the slats, I had a few bendy ones, even with position of the pilot holes didn't help. I had to move it away from the pilot hold for it to work with the bend. With that much screwing already done, I really cannot be bothered with a return. But once assembled, it is a nice compact day bed which feels solid enough in closed position. When in pulled out with half the slats supporting the mattress, it feels less solid. The painted finish on the wood is also pretty good.

an ok bed with limited use
goodish quality, a little difficult to pull out for a full bed but it works brilliantly as a single and double if needed, the slats are a tad flimsy when in full bed mode and the drawer has its limitations with weight so just bedding is fine. all in all it’s perfect for an occasional

Good sturdy frame but very difficult to assemble
The day bed is good and feels sturdy. We have had it for more than 3weeks now. It's easy to open to turn it into a Super King sized bed. However, one point of caution for anyone considering to buy it, it's very hard to assemble. The instructions are too condensed so individual steps do not make it clear which the plane goes and for some steps we need to drill in screws at awkward angles or without sufficient space. Also, we need to screw in the slats without any marking or screw hole so it takes a lot of time to ensure the slats don't rub against each other and a lot of effort screwing around 150 self drilling screws. It took me around 6hours to assemble the bed frame. However, after the hard work, the bed frame looks nice.

Hello there. The supplier of the Habitat Axel Trundle Day Bed with 1 Drawer advises you to "just add your chosen mattresses" and provides the sizes of each bed base so that this can be done. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Q and A.
Hi there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Habitat Axel Trundle Day Bed with 1 Drawer - White: Since there are 2 mattresses stacked on top of each other when the bed is not pulled out, I would say that the mattresses must be max. 16cm thick.
But would look better and have a better sitting height with 2x 12 cm mattresses.
