Founder of Nor-Folk
Fiona created design-led lifestyle brand, Nor-Folk. She lives in Norwich with her husband, son and their two cats, and has recently renovated this water cabin in the Norfolk Broads.
"My interiors style is minimalist – I have an incredibly busy brain so I like what surrounds me visually to be neutral and pared back. I’m definitely inspired by Japanese interiors as well as Scandinavian."
"My husband, Bobby, is from the Norfolk Broads and the cabin is in the village where he grew up. For over five years we’ve been looking for a second property to renovate and then offer as a holiday let. We’d toyed with the coast but our heart lies in the Norfolk Broads. This particular cabin had been on the market a year earlier and we’d missed out. We viewed it on my birthday and made an offer that day. And the rest, as they say, is history."
"I think my work and interiors are just a reflection of the way I see the world. I like to remove things that aren’t entirely necessary. Simplicity for me is harmonious and creates much greater clarity for my thinking. At home we have half a dozen Habitat Bobby lamps. I love their form, how they blend into our home and the ease in which you can create mood lighting. In the cabin, I love our Etta table and Oregan chairs. They have a classic, mid-century Danish nod which I love."
