Clumsy kids? Messy pets? Sometimes your perfect squidgy sofa, or the family dining table, can get damaged by accidents. Life just happens.
So we've put together specialised Argos Care to protect your favourite Argos or Habitat furniture. Should the unexpected happen, depending on the nature of your claim, we’ll send an expert technician to fix it or a cleaning kit for you to remove a stain. What’s more, if we can’t repair it, we’ll give you a brand-new replacement or Argos vouchers.
So, what's included?
- Accidental damage cover – from the moment you get your furniture which includes:
- spills resulting in a stain on your fabric or leather upholstery
- rips, tears or burns to your fabric or leather upholstery
- scratches, punctures or scuffs to leather upholstery
- breakage of frame components
- Pet cover – two claims per duration of cover for damage caused by pets, but there’s no limit to the number of claims you can make for stains
- Structural defects cover – once your manufacturer’s guarantee expires (only if the policy remains in force), frames and structural defects will be included too

If your item gets damaged accidentally or breaks down due to a fault after the manufacturer’s guarantee has ended, our priority is to get you back up and running as soon as possible.
We're proud to say - over 99% of our customers' Argos Care claims were accepted in 2022 (excludes Furniture Care).
Just pop into store and we'll give you a brand new replacement, or Argos vouchers to the original amount you paid for your item so you can choose for yourself. No fuss.
So, what’s covered?

Making a Replacement Care claim – We’re here for you
The true test of any insurance is when you need to make a claim. With Argos Replacement Care, it couldn't be simpler…
If your item is accidentally damaged or broken:
- Simply take it into your local Argos store, with the receipt for the item and the Replacement Care, and you'll get a replacement.
- Don't worry, if we can't swap it for a new one, we'll give you vouchers for the original purchase price of the item.
- Once you've received a replacement or voucher, that's it, your policy has now ended.
How do I get Argos Care?
Buy as you shop
We sell Argos Care at the same time you buy your Argos product. You'll see the product insurance options when you add your item to trolley.
But you've still got time...
If you've got something from Habitat but not quite sure if you want product insurance, you've got 45 days from when you bought it to add Argos Care. Just pop into an Argos store or Argos store within Sainsbury's with your receipt and one of our colleagues will get it sorted for you. Your product will be covered right away. Phew, that's a relief.

Below is key information you need to know when purchasing Argos Replacement Care Insurance. More detailed information, including our complaints procedure, can be found in the terms and conditions.
Your statutory rights
Your statutory rights will not be affected when you buy a policy. These include the right to claim a refund, repair, or replacement for up to six years (in Scotland it’s up to five years after you became aware, or could with reasonable diligence have become aware there was a problem) if your electrical goods were not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose when they were sold to you. After the first six months, you will have to prove that the goods had a fault when sold to you. Other providers
Policies may be available from other providers. You may also be covered under your household contents insurance or other policies that you may hold.
When can I buy a policy?
You can buy a policy up to 45 days after buying your product. Any terms or offers, such as discounts and vouchers that are linked to the purchase of the policy, will also remain available for 45 days from the date you purchased your product.
When does the policy start?
The policy commences on the date it is purchased.
When does the policy end?
Your policy will end after the duration specified on your receipt (unless ended in accordance with the terms and conditions). If we give you a replacement or vouchers for a replacement, the policy will end immediately and no premium will be refunded.
Cancellation rights
Your policy can be cancelled at any time. You will receive a full refund if you cancel within the 45 day cooling off period. After these 45 days, if you cancel your policy we will refund the premium paid for the remaining full months of your policy.
Meeting the obligations under your policy
Domestic & General Insurance PLC is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. If we cannot meet our obligations to you under the policy, compensation may be available to cover these obligations. The compensation provides for 90% of any claim with no upper limit on the amount of the claim.
