Who are you?
Design and Interiors freelance blogger and course creator, speaker and sometime Pinterest consultant. I’m also a mum with 2 girls aged 9 and 12, married living in the sunny East Midlands.
What’s the day job?
Well all of the above really. Blogging and working with brands and bloggers has taken over my world in the last few years.
What does your dream day look like?
Ooh that’s easy. My kindle, a quiet space and lots of lovely coffee.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Definitely somewhere sunny and warm, but not isolated as I love the hustle and bustle of city life. If I had a sea view that would be all the better; I find the ocean calming and hypnotic and could spend hours sitting on a beach listening to the waves.
What’s the first thing you check out when visiting someone’s home for the first time?
I love to see how people have put their rooms together. It gives you a real sense of who that person is, their likes and dislikes and how they feel about the space in which they live. I love to look at their wall art, as well as their photos – these are the pieces that breathe life into a home and make it personal.
What’s your interior addiction?
Wall art and cushions. I have a bag of cushions that sit in my loft (supposedly as props for blog photos) but really they are there as part of my addiction! I also love hanging pictures and creating collages that tell a story or add to the look and feel of a room.
What makes you really angry?
Mess. I like a tidy home as it helps me feel relaxed, it’s just a shame my family don’t agree!
Pick a favourite film, book and song.
I’m actually a bit of a rom-com queen, so I’d say something like Notting Hill for my film. In books I like the classics, Pride and Prejudice is a favourite and song, Say Something, the Pentatonix version. See, I’m not very deep and meaningful really!
Best place you’ve ever been on holiday?
We took the children to Mauritius last year as a kind of treat holiday and it was the most incredible experience – one I know they will remember all of their lives.
What’s your favourite smell?
Lilies. I love having a bunch in my living room and walking in and smelling their fragrance.
What single thing would improve your life?
Someone who came into my home and tidied the mess for me every morning!
What are you bad at that you wish you did well?
Maths. I wish I had a more mathematical brain.
What would be your Death Row meal?
A glass of champagne, a bowl of chicken ramen noodles followed by lots of carrot cake.
