Who are you?

Katy English

What’s the day job?

I’m a receptionist and lifestyle blogger, using my spare time on the front desk to push ahead my creative dreams!

What does your dream day look like?

I’m an early bird, so I’d get up around 7am, shower, dress, Instagram my breakfast, eat my breakfast, then sit down to edit photos and write blogposts until lunch. I’d walk the dog (I don’t own a dog, but this is a dream day right?) and eat something healthy and delicious. Then I’d drag my boyfriend to the cinema, order a roast dinner at my local pub, and drink wine and play scrabble til we got kicked out.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

I’d love to live in York. It’s my favourite UK city and I’m counting down the years until I can make my move!

What’s the first thing you check out when visiting someone’s home for the first time?

The light. I have an obsession with windows and great light, so it’s always the first thing I notice!

What’s your interior addiction?

I love white walls. Having had to endure years of ugly magnolia in rented places, a clean white wall is a dream to me!

What makes you really angry?

People who can’t think for themselves. Closed minded people who rely on other people for their opinions and refuse to consider more than one option drive me mad!

Pick a favourite film, book and song.

Film: Stardust, Book: The Night Circus by Erin Morgernstern, Song: ‘Here Comes The Sun’ by the Beatles

Best place you’ve ever been on holiday?

Rome! My boyfriend and I did 5 days in March this year and it was everything I’d ever hoped it would be.

What’s your favourite smell?

Tea and toast.

What single thing would improve your life?

Someone to organise me and sort my admin for me! I’m awful at keeping up with paperwork, figures and appointments.

What are you bad at that you wish you did well?

Keeping up with paperwork, figures and appointments! I wish I was more organised and strategic in my thinking.

What would be your Death Row meal?

A massive selection of perfect Spanish tapas, served with a large glass of Malbec.
