Habitat fitted kitchens

Most people would agree that the kitchen is the heart of the home. The hub. The place that everybody gathers at a party or a social event.

Most people, would like a new kitchen.

Well, Habitat could be your new source of kitchen inspiration. Head here on the website to see what we have to offer, or pop in to to any of our stores to see examples in the flesh.

We found one such family that had purchased and installed one of our most popular kitchens so we took ourselves off to their London abode to see it in situ.

1. What made you choose Habitat to buy your kitchen?

We took a long time getting round all the main High St and medium-to-upmarket outlets, even a couple of boutique style shops and some online outlets. Habitat wasn’t the first place we looked. We were really surprised at the value for money and choice, yet on par with Magnet with price. It did not take long to make our minds up when we saw your range, it answered our prayers! In all honesty, Habitat did not spring to mind as we didn’t realise your stores were in the kitchens market.

2. Did you have a strong idea of the design aesthetic you were after when you bought it or were you led by the sales advisors?

We had a very organised approach, our architect had been through all the possible configurations in our small house so we had a head start on getting the design right. However we were also very pleased with your designer Nestor who really put a professional touch to our ideas and problems. Strangely enough I was given a free hand by my wife to choose the colour AND she admitted I chose well after all had been fitted.

3. What’s your favourite part of the kitchen?

We wanted to get a handleless kitchen but not in beige or white or grey or shiny! We love the clean lines for the cupboard insets, great colour. We did not see the kitchen in the shop as the range was so new in the UK. I know my wife loves the sink, it is just right.

4. Have you grown up with other Habitat items in your home? If so, which ones?

My wife bought her first set of crockery with the blue and red flowers when she first set up her flat in London in the 70’s. I had the folding wooden chairs, which followed us through our lives until the dog chewed them to bits….

The Habitat sofa with the classic square lines has not aged a bit and super comfy. It’s been in the family for 30 years and has now been passed onto our children.
