Interview with Rock my Style

The incredibly talented Lauren Coleman, Deputy Editor at Rock my Style gives us an insight into her world, below!

1. For people who may not be familiar with Rock My Style, please give us a quick run down of what it’s all about.

We are the little sister blog to Rock My Wedding, the hugely successful UK wedding blog. Our wedding site has a large and loyal following but it made sense for us to branch out in to other areas to cover long-term lifestyle interests such as beauty, interiors, fashion, maternity and wellbeing. We have just celebrated the first birthday of Rock My Style and it’s been a whirlwind year. We are extremely proud to have created an extremely chatty and engaged community covering the latest trends and discoveries in many different areas.

2. What is a typical day for you?

There’s no such thing as a typical day for the RMS team! There are four team members spread all over the country working from home. As well as devising content, days can be spent arranging photo shoots, liaising with sponsors, analysing stats and working on social media.

3. What are the trends that you have seen emerge recently in the fashion world?

We can’t decide which upcoming trend we’re most excited about, the 70s revival (A-line skirts, suede, coloured crochet, bold prints, stacked heels and flares) or the fact we’re going to be able to wear denim everywhere as our favourite fabric goes next level (dungarees, boiler suits, pinafores, co-ordinating smart-enough-for-work two pieces). We’re also looking forward to wearing Woodstock inspired pretty broderie anglaise tops and sleek sporty silhouettes all summer long.

4. Have you noticed a recent trend that has filtered from fashion into the interiors world?

It’s usual for runway trends to make their way into rooms too so geometrics, stripes and large prints are some of our favourites. It’s also great to see the street-style fashion of mixing vintage and new pieces continues to be popular in the interiors world too.

5. Have you got a favourite Habitat product or was there a Habitat product you remember in your home growing up?

We are all pretty envious of our founder, Charlotte’s Flap Analogue clock, as we love functional yet stylish pieces.
