Inspired by the arrival of spring, Interior Designer Abigail Ahern has turned her attention to her long-neglected bedroom. She shows us how she transformed her boudoir from snooze-ville to dreamy sleep sanctuary in three simple steps.
1. SLEEPING BEAUTY
Having not updated her bed in 20 years, the first thing Abi wanted to do was find the perfect replacement.. Describing it as the “most glam, most luxurious looking low platform bed I’ve seen in a long while”, Abi eventually settled on the Ottori bed in velvet as the main focus of her newly-decorated bedroom. “It’s deeply cushioned frame and curvaceous sides made me feel like I’m getting into a cloud-like bed that envelopes me. Plus, anyone who knows me knows that I am texture-obsessed so this frame which is upholstered in a velvet called Pave is a great way to extend texture from the headboard literally to the footboard.”
2. DUVET DAY
Next up, Abi wanted a bed linen refresh to give her bedroom a fresh, clean and summery finish. She opted for the Washed Sateen Pink duvet cover set in a powdery pink hue. To satisfy her love of texture, Abi finished the look with a dark grey Delany cotton bedspread.
3. GREEN HOUSE
Last but not least, Abi brought the outside in by introducing some summery grasses and mini succulents as the perfect finishing touches.
