Metals have become the new neutrals in interiors and the newest of these is copper. Beautifully warming, statement making and dramatic, it works on everything from furniture to lighting. Ready, set, glow.
INTO THE LIGHT
The Marlowe pendant light (far left) combines sleek, cylindrical, brushed copper with soft, curvaceous smoked or white glass, giving a nod to copper’s heritage in 60’s design. At the other end of the design spectrum is Marteau (left) – each shade is hand beaten by artisans to give it its textured appearance. And for romantic nights in, fill the Klein candelabra with tealights (right) for flickering, rose-tinted sparkle.
Copper is surprisingly easy to integrate into an existing room scheme. Make a singular statement with the Orrico coffee and side tables (left). These pieces crafted in India from aluminium and are incredibly easy to manoeuvre around but, once in place, they’re the true star of show – their iridescence deriving from hundreds of tiny hammer marks on the surface. For an understated nod to the trend, choose the Copper vase. A beautiful design that pairs a sleek mirror finish with hatched detailing for textural contrast.
