What do a VW Beetle, a very funky hair-do, a backstreet in Kings Cross and a Tatsuma chest of drawers have in common? Yep, you guessed it: it must be time for our sale shoot! Let’s take a sneaky look behind the scenes…
A BEETLE FULL OF BOOTY
If you’re familiar with the Habitat sale you will know it’s impossible not to fill your boots, shopping basket and any other vaguely acceptable receptacle in a bid to bag a bargain. Last time it was a buggy (at the expense of the baby) and this time we went to the next level knowing that we needed a LOT more space. So we looked to a car and not just any car: a convertible bright blue VW Beetle. Well, what else?!
Now who would drive a car like this? Model Monique who has graced the pages of Elle and Grazia, and her envious ‘fro were just the look we were going for. Striking, fun and ready to make a statement, she’s the perfect match for Habitat! Thankfully the rain held off just long enough for seasoned fashion photographer Julia Kennedy to work her magic behind the lens. Phew!
LIKE YOUR STYLE
Fashion stylist Orsolya Szabo selected punchy pieces for Monique, with a pair of sunnies that we’re dying to get our hands on. While prop stylist Charlotte Lawton took to her trusty stepladder to fill the back seats with booty. How many Habitat icons can you spot? I spy…a Daborn armchair…a Tash rug…oh is that Gerard the Giraffe I can see?
And that’s a wrap!
