Imagine there’s a new starter at work. He’s full of boundless energy, is always excited to see you and, when you’re around him, the stress of the cramped tube journey and your endless ‘to do’ list seems a million miles away and, instead, you just feel happy. Sounds like a big asset to your team, huh? So when can he start? Well how about today?! It’s ‘Bring Your Dog To Work Day’!
We’re welcoming our four-legged friends to Habitat HQ today and we thought we’d get to know our latest recruits a little better. After all, cuddles and giggles are already rippling around the office so we’d like to pass on some of those happy hormones to you.
Otto, 3 years old, is a Parti Poodle. He is owned by Polly Dickens, Creative Director.
Polly, how did you come to own Otto?
We had 2 poodles previously. When they both died we thought we would wait for a period of time before getting another dog. I lasted 2 weeks before I started looking for a puppy. Otto was one of 12 puppies. We chose him because of his ink blot markings on his bottom.
If Otto were a human, what would he be like?
A rockstar in terms of looks. Personality-wise, full of joy, fun and high spirits. Curious and very clever.
What’s Otto’s favourite treat?
A disgusting smelling doggy treat called ‘Puppy Meaty Love Hearts’ or a plate of seared liver.
What’s the one word you can’t say around Otto?
Which piece of Habitat furniture do you think Otto would most like to sleep on?
Willis, 6 years old in July, is a Pug/Cavalier King Charles cross and is looked after by owner, Amy Rich, VM Planning Manager
Amy, how did you come to own Willis?
I saw pictures of the pups on line and immediately knew he was for me. I had been planning to rescue a Staffie but fell in love with Willis along the way.
If Willis were a human, what would he be like?
A bit of a yo yo dieter! He’s a chunky boy. A good solid dog I like to call him. He’s a big personality and makes anyone who meets him smile. So I guess he would be the same as a human. Quite frankly, he’s a legend (although I do say so myself).
What’s Willis’ favourite treat?
Toast without a doubt, followed by milk. Although fox poop is also popular.
What’s the one word you can’t say around Willis?
Dinner. It causes chaos. Or the sound you make to attract a cat.
Which piece of Habitat furniture do you think Willis would most like to sleep on?
Well he’s spent all day on the Daborn geometric armchair and I think he thinks it suits him. BUT I think he’s got his eye on the Copeland bed [Ed: launching AW16!].
