Psychedelic colours, neon strip lighting, clashing patterns, pumping baselines, Singapore Slings, voracious gambling…welcome to the den of iniquity that was the House of Holland x Habitat Launch Party. Yes, Wednesday night, the collection was finally unveiled to the great British press and Henry even bought a couple of celebs along for the soirée.
The newly revamped Tottenham Court store provided the perfect backdrop for hosting a peek into Henry’s kaleidoscopic world, based on his SS16 catwalk collection and the cult film, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The new mirrored event space was festooned in House of Holland’s collection, offset against luminescent rainbow-coloured lighting and bespoke printed wallpaper in House of Holland’s pufferfish print.
It was here that Miquita Oliver took to the paradise leaf printed Abel sofa with our man of the hour to broadcast live on Facebook (watch again here) alongside blogger extraordinaire Susie Bubble and publicist/creative consultant/band manager/all-round celebrity friend, Aimee Phillips (both clad in a myriad of clashing prints – they clearly got the memo).
With Crucial & Fresh on the decks (listen to their playlist here), croupiers relieving you of your dollars and tropical cocktails flowing, the party was in full swing when Henry’s longtime friend and superstar model, Daisy Lowe, fresh from her own DJ set, hit the hot pink carpet.
And when the bar eventually closed and the music was turned off, we padded across his rug, collapsed on his armchair, buried ourselves in his cushions and celebrated the fact that even after the party was over we could still drown ourselves in Henry’s wonderful world.
