Say it out loud. Now chant it over and over with increasing urgency until you feel faint, preferably with a melting ice cream in your hand. Good. It’s in this spirit that you should get yourself over to Habitat’s Platform Gallery for a thought-provoking, appetite-inducing exhibition of ice-cream-related art, running from 20-30 August.
Put on by international art collective, I Scream Factory, the exhibition of photography, installation and sculpture will explore life’s bigger questions through the metaphor of our favourite frozen, sickly sweet treat. “Ice cream, a fast-melting delicacy, embodies various dimensions of life itself,” says the group.
The message? Life is fleeting, and so is ice cream. Pop in for a look.
If you’re really clever, you might time your visit with the exclusive pop up ice cream parlour from Ice Kitchen, who will be selling artisan ice lollies at Habitat from Friday 21 August – Sunday 23rd.
Where: Platform, Habitat, 1st Floor, 208 King’s Road, SW3 5XP
When: 20-30 August, 10am-6pm weekdays; 9:30-6pm weekends
