WHAT TYPES OF BED LINEN DOES HABITAT SELL?
Bed linen, while often considered to simply be a bedroom necessity, can actually make or break the room in terms of decor. While its level of luxury is key for a good night’s sleep, the linen you choose can also be adept at transforming the space - switching up your bedding is a quick and easy way to revamp your room; inject new colours or clash a few patterns.
Of course, when making yourit’s best to start at the bottom - layer-wise, that is. We stock a wide range of mattress and pillow protectors, not to mention flat sheets, to make sure the foundations are properly laid. For the top tier of bedding - the one that gets all the attention - we have a range of bed sets on offer, encompassing duvets and pillowcases (much more economical than buying separately) with a chic selection of bedspreads and throws. For optimum style and comfort, every bed should utilise the latter. Layering several throws on top of a bedspread is a striking way to ensure your bed is inviting, with every piece combined serving to heighten the luxury and ramp up the glam factor.
WHAT IS HABITAT'S BED LINEN MADE FROM?
Speaking of luxury, only the finest fabrics will do when it comes to encouraging a silent night. To this end we offer Egyptian cotton bedding, bed linen and sheets. What’s so special about bedding from the Egyptians, one might ask? Well, given they have an extensive history of royalty, with the treasure of their Kings and Queens searched for by archaeologists for centuries, we think this might be a good indication that they know a thing or two about what constitutes a coveted level of luxe.
In a nutshell, these highly regarded sheets possess many attractive features, such as an incomparably high quality of cotton, a softer than silk-like texture and a high thread count that more than rival any other sheet in your drawers. Their secret lies in the fact that they contain long fibres that are extensively weaved, hence the luxurious thread count. It is often said that these Egyptian sheets are so soft, they can feel like a second skin. From anyone who has ever spent the night wrapped in low quality sheets, you’ll know why this sounds so appealing. Take it from us, being scratched while you sleep is even less appealing than hearing things go bump in the night.
Alternatively, if the expense of going Egyptian seems a tad out of your comfort zone, duck feather or duck down also make for perfect snuggling partners. Sumptuous and plump, both offer deep and dense, highly comfortable options - ideal for burying yourself in come night-time. The only worry, is that you may resist getting up again come morning.
WHAT BEDDING SIZES ARE AVAILABLE AT HABITAT?
At Habitat we have bedding options to fit every room in the house, from single beds in the children’s bedrooms - or maybe even a small, but chic, guest room. For those with a double bed, we’ve also got you covered. Fancy a tip to aid romantic bliss? If your boudoir is only big enough to house a double bed, yet you both tend to fight in the night over who hogs all the covers, why not invest in king size bedding instead? After all, these is no set rule that your bedding has to be the exact same size as your bed. (Unless it’s vice versa - that will just leave you cold - literally and visually.) In addition to keeping the peace, a larger duvet cover will hang over the sides of the bed just that little bit more, handy for hiding any stored items underneath.
If you do have the space to play with, however, we say always go large - space to spread out during the night is the ultimate indulgence - which is why we have super king size bedding on offer too. If it’s just for you, we still say bigger is better. After all, when it comes to cocooning yourself in beautiful bed linen, it may get a little hot, but it will never be too much to handle.
