Argos Card is going digital

Argos Card Customer? We recently wrote to you to tell you your Argos Card account would update to an Argos Pay account on 12th April 2026, when it moves to NewDay. To make sure everything goes smoothly, we've decided to take a bit more time to complete the update, and your account will now change to Argos Pay on 26th April 2026.

This means you can continue to use your Argos Card as you do today and the Argos Pay Agreement we sent you in March will now come into effect on 26th April 2026. Until then, you can find the available credit plans on the Argos Card here.

Your Argos Card is changing - say hello to Argos Pay.

On 26th April, your Argos Card account will update to Argos Pay, a digital credit account provided by NewDay Ltd.

Don't worry, you can keep using your Argos Card as you do today and you'll find everything you need to know in the email/letters we've sent you about updating to Argos Pay.

What's changing and when?

There are no changes right now, and for the time being, you should continue to use your Argos Card as you do today. This includes:

shopping with your Argos Card instore at Argos and Sainsbury’s and online at Argos and Habitat
using the My Argos Card App to manage your account and make payments

You have recently been sent information about the changes that will be made to your Argos Card Terms and Conditions in April; and we have also sent you a summary of what's changing, along with an updated Agreement. Don't worry, there won't be any changes to your credit limit, interest rate or existing payment plans.

We have sent you info about the new Argos Pay app, including when you'll be invited to register and how to manage your account digitally after it updates.

Welcome to Argos Pay! You'll be contacted when it's time for you to register for the Argos Pay app or Online Account Manager so you can continue to use and manage your account when it updates to Argos Pay.

What you need to know now

From 26th April, your account will update to Argos Pay automatically - you don't need to re-apply and there's no credit check. Then, from 27th April you'll be able to register for the new Argos Pay app or Online Account Manager, so you can continue to manage your account and spend with Argos Pay.

You can continue to use your Argos Card to make purchases and manage your account on the My Argos Card App until your account updates to Argos Pay.
Make sure your contact details are up to date so that you:

continue to receive information and stay up to date on the important changes happening
can register for the Argos Pay app and Online Account Manager when the time comes
can spend with and manage your Argos Pay account after it has been updated

You can check your details on the My Argos Card App, where you can also update your email address and mobile phone number. If you need to update your postal address, give us a call on 03456 400 700 and we'll do that for you.

What is Argos Pay?

On 26th April, your Argos Card will update to Argos Pay - your digital credit account with more features. There's no need to re-apply - we'll update your account for you.

Argos Pay will give you access to a wider range of repayment options by introducing instalment plans of up to 48 months on top of flexible credit and Buy Now Pay Later.
You'll get more ways to manage your account and make repayments, with a new Argos Pay app and Online Account Manager.
There's also no plastic – you'll no longer need your Argos Card as you'll pay digitally using a username and passcode.

Why has the date my account updates to Argos Pay changed?

We recently wrote to you to tell you your Argos Card account would update to an Argos Pay account on 12th April 2026, when it moves to NewDay. To make sure everything goes smoothly, we've decided to take a bit more time to complete the update, and your account will now change to Argos Pay on 26th April 2026.

This means you can continue to use your Argos Card as you do today. And the Argos Pay Agreement we sent you in March will now come into effect on 26th April 2026, not on 12th April 2026 as we previously told you.

I see Argos Pay as a payment option online, can I use that now?

No, this option is only available for new customers who have applied for and been accepted for an Argos Pay account, so for the time being, as an existing Argos Card account customer, you should continue to use your Argos Card as usual.

If you attempt to apply for an Argos Pay account, this will be declined, as we'll be updating your existing Argos Card account to Argos Pay automatically when the time comes. You won't need to re-apply, and there'll be no further credit check. You'll then need to register for the new Argos Pay app or Online Account Manager but don't worry, we'll let you know what to expect ahead of time, so the update will be as smooth and simple as possible.

When can I register for the Argos Pay app or Online Account Manager?

Can I still call the contact centre about my Argos Card?

Yes, up until 5pm Friday 24th April, our contact centre is available to help you with any questions you have or to support your needs as usual. Until that time, you can still call us on 03456 400 700. We're available - Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, Sunday, 10am to 6pm.

From Monday 27th April 2026, you'll need to contact the Argos Pay team on 0333 240 8002, if you need support with any account queries. Lines will be open, 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm Saturday and closed on Sunday. You'll find more information about other ways to contact them at newday.co.uk/argospay-infohub.

Do I need to make any changes to how I make payments to my Argos Card or how much I pay?

No, for the time being, you should continue to make payments as you do now. For example, you can pay using the My Argos Card App, over the phone using the automated payment line, via Direct Debit or by bank transfer. Remember, if you have a payment arrangement in place, you should continue to make these payments as agreed.

If you previously paid by post (cheque or postal order) we've written to let you know that this is no longer an available option. You'll find alternative ways to pay on the back of your statement.

Once your Argos Card updates to Argos Pay, you may need to make some changes to how you make payments. For more information on the payment options that will be available, click here to visit NewDay's website.

Who are NewDay?

What happens to my Personal Data?

It's important to note that your account and Personal Data will transfer to NewDay in April 2026, and they’ll be managing your account going forward. NewDay will become the Data Controller, responsible for keeping your information safe and using it only to manage your account in line with data protection laws.

If you close your account before it updates to Argos Pay, your card will be cancelled, but your data will still transfer to NewDay. If you have an outstanding balance, you’ll need to keep making payments until your balance is cleared. If there is an outstanding balance on your Argos Card account when it updates to Argos Pay in April 2026, the changes to your Account and your Agreement that we've told you about, will apply at that point and you'll need to either register for the new Argos Pay app or Online Account Manager to continue to make payments, or choose an alternative method.
Whether your account status is open or you now close it before the update, NewDay must keep your data for things like handling future claims, complaints, and for regulatory, legislative, business analysis and reporting requirements. They won’t use it for anything else without your prior, express consent.
Any permissions you’ve previously given us (except for marketing permissions) will transfer to NewDay when your account updates.

If your account was closed before 1st March 2025, your Personal Data will stay with Argos Financial Services and won’t be transferred to NewDay. Argos Financial Services will remain responsible for keeping this information safe and using it in line with data protection laws. Once your account updates to Argos Pay, expected in April 2026, you'll use the new Argos Pay app or Online Account Manager instead.

The Argos Pay team will be in touch, by email or post, to let you know when its time to register. You'll need to register so that you can continue to spend and manage your account through the Argos Pay app or Online Account Manager.

Remember, from Monday 27th April, you need to register and create a username and passcode so you can manage your Argos Pay account and use it when you shop online at Argos and Habitat.
